An ear, nose, and throat doctor (ENT) specializes in everything having to do with those parts of the body. They're also called otolaryngologists. Some historians believe this to be one of the oldest medical specialties in the United States.

Otolaryngology surgery is performed on the head or neck area to treat problems of the ears, nose, or throat. It may also be called ENT (ear, nose, and throat) surgery. Otolaryngologists are doctors trained to treat patients with disorders or diseases of the ear, nose, or throat.

Tinnitus or ringing in your ears. Vertigo, dizziness, or problems with your balance. Losing your voice, hearing, or sense of smell. Blockages in your airway or other breathing problems that don't require emergency care.
